Very fresh and savory dishes! Excellent and very friendly service! Good selection of wines, also by glass! Unbeatable price for the menu! Worth a visit!
Made a lunch reservation for Saturday 1pm and the place was quite busy when we arrived. They didn’t have an English menu available but they were great about explaining the dishes to us (and Google Translate helped too).
Between the five of us we shared one tasting menu (55 €, five dishes) and three prix fixe lunches (32 €, appetizer + entree + dessert). The two menus are almost identical with the addition of a beef entree in the tasting menu. Both appetizers were really good - the zucchini and mussels in curry sauce was very light and refreshing, and I loved the green beans with the hazelnut, guanciale and ricotta. The green bean tempura was nice and lightly fried. For our mains, we got the tuna, monkfish, beef and pork. Really enjoyed the peach and tomato that came with the fish. The meats are cooked on the rarer side which I liked, and the carrot purée that came with both was luscious and tasty. Overall, each component on the dishes worked really well together, and the sauces were especially good. The plum yogurt dessert was refreshing, and the cheeses were quite nice with the apricot jam. Everything was plated beautifully.
Service was friendly and they spoke good English. Ambiance was lovely and food was really good quality for the value. However, had to dock a star from my overall rating as the courses came out rather slowly - our meal took two hours.
4.5/5
I really like the concept of the restaurant. The location, the service is great, but the food as such "plays" on something that is not. I'd recommend going back to basics and away from all the different foams, as you undoubtedly have quality ingredients.
We had very good lunch here with interesting vegetarian starter and mains. It’s not typical Marseillaise food but more like modern European.
Came for lunch and did the Menu dégustation en cinq services. Overall is a good price for what you get. This meal started off strong with two tasty entrees. The sauce with the tempura was really delicious. The two main courses however were fairly disappointing. The fish course came with flowers on top that had bugs crawling in them. I just took the flowers off but it was the first thing I saw when I looked down and it really took away my appetite. It tasted just okay which was really a letdown after how good the starters were. The chicken wasn’t very good either, not cooked especially well and the flavor wasn’t special. I didn’t eat much of either main course. It was somewhat redeemed with the dessert which was pretty good, a biscuit with a chocolate mousse, pear sorbet, and tonka cream on top. As for the service, it was okay but nothing exceptional. I found it a little awkward that they never change your cutlery and I wasn’t sure what to do with my used fork and knife between plates and had to leave them in the bread basket to avoid putting them directly on the table. I wasn’t sure whether to give two or three stars since some of the meal was really good, but given that overall I wouldn’t go again I chose to give two.
We had a Wonderfull dinner at Ourea. 5 courses with a good match of wines. The service where great. Friendly and did a good job, without being too much. I can recommend this place for everyone. Couples, singles, old, young, babies
If you can, definitely make a reservation and enjoy the amazing food. Everything I had was perfect, the cheeses were incredible and I would certainly come back.
We happened on the restaurant by chance on our way to
Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde. Anyone visiting Marseille should put this restaurant as a destination. The food was amazing and the staff was overly friendly. I highly recommend the full course meal. Every dish was fantastic made with seasonal ingredients. If you are going, I highly recommend you make reservations, and if you just happened to walk in like I did, I would get there early before the dinner/lunch rush hour. The restaurant filled up fast.
